It could be that the amplifier died (if you're using it) or the connections got oxidized (rusted). Connect and disconnect the cable ends a few times, Carefully use an pencil eraser (use the white ones as they don't have acid like the red ones do) to clean the center conductor (thin wire at the center). The antenna itself won't go bad, unless it's physically damaged. Or it could be the TV. Try another one to test it out.
