This is a loop antenna. That means that it uses the magnetic field and not the electric field like a whip or "regular" TV antenna (Yagi or LPA) So it needs to be edge on to the transmitting antenna. Think of a sideways doughnut laying on a table with the transmitting antenna sticking up through the middle of the hole. Now if you take a knife and make a vertical cut from the center to the outside. Place this antenna in that slot vertically so the two edges touch the two cut ends of the doughnut. That's how you orient this antenna. The maximum magnetic field goes through the center of this antenna, So basically the edge (any of the 2 vertical edges) lines up vertically with the transmitting antenna, while the other 2 (horizontal edges) points to the transmitting antenna.

This antenna is multi-directional, meaning it will receive signals from the front and the back of the antenna. Please contact our Tech Support Team at 877-825-5572, so they can fully explain the pickup field. We are here 7 days a week to answer any questions you may have. Thank you!
