I actually have the same question...the cost seems to line up with the price of the newer version. On other sites the version 1 headset is much less expensive (I got them for less than half the advertised price here). I really liked the version 1 (awesome sound, price, comfort on long runs), but the bluetooth was terrible. Would disconnect after about 40 minutes of use. So frustrating. I'm thinking the newer technology in these headphones will deal with their bluetooth issues.
