“Can I plug the powerline adapter into the surge protector itself instead of a wall mount?”

• Theoretically, you can but why would you? Run a Cat-5 cable out of your Router and into Power line adapter and plug it into any standard power wall outlet. Plug in the surge protector and run a cat-5 cable out of the unit and plug it into your TV. That's what I did. It worked for me.
