“does this only work when the base is plugged in?? when I unplug it it doesn’t work but when it’s plugged up it does & I’m confused isn’t it supposed to be wireless”

It is wireless in the fact that nothing needs to be plugged in to the actual phone for it to be charged. The actual charging station needs to be plugged in order for it to send the wireless charging to the phone itself.

One of the points of wireless charging with the newer iPhones is that you can charge the phone while using the lightning port for headphones.
