• Any case, but you may need to add a metal plate to the case. The magnet is weak.

• I would say you need the mophie case. I tried mine (samsung s7 edge) without the mophie case and with a thin one I had and it wouldn't mount. It will charge if you lie it flat but not hold the phone as a mount.
