See package. It states on the package it is compatible with Smartphones, tablets and other USB devices. I charge my iPhone and iPad with this device. The package terms are most likely categorically general terms to avoid providing an exhaustive list of every model of cellphones, tablets, and other USB devices on the market (that this company does not make). The XL has 2 USB ports, so you can charge 2 devices at the same time, such as a Samsung phone and an iPhone, or and iphone and an ipad or some other tablet, etc. Long as the charger cable has USB to plug into this device.
