“Would this modem increase my current internet speed for using Skype that I pay for through Comcast cable so that I could go down a level from Performance Pro and save even more money on my Comcast bill besides the rental fee for a modem?”

I got this modem from the beginning so that I don’t pay any rental fee! I am finding that ridiculous! I come from Germany and if a firm wants you to use their service they borrow it to you for free!! This modem works perfectly! I don’t use Skype at the moment. But we watch movies etc. without any problems. Skype should work fine therefore.
