This modem will work with most routers if not all routers. It is backward compatible with 3.0.

Please try again later.In most circumstances you wouldn’t but if you are getting one gigabit speeds which is what this modem is more focused on then you probably would have since your current router probably doesn’t have that capability. My golden rule is three or four years and you should be upgrading your router in order to stay on top of the latest technology. Six or seven years and regardless I would upgrade the router to anything even cheap ones. In short though your current router will still work with this modem more than likely.
