Just note, you will not have the router's firewall, and you will need to configure the OS firewall to protect your PC from being exposed to internet attacks. In general, this direct type of connection is not related to this specific modem model, you can do it with any brand and model.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I connect my modem to an Asus 5000 router with four (4) Ethernet ports . This allows me to have the option to connect PC, TV, game console etc. while keeping my home wireless network Active. The mb8600 modem has only one (1) Ethernet port.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There is 1 ethernet port which will allow you to connect one wired device. Without a router, this will be the limit of what you can connect. Your device will need a wired connection as well. While possible to do this, it is very much an under utilization of the modem.
