It will zoom in for both photos and videos. Up to 8x zoom for photos but only up to 6x for videos.

That means you can pinch to zoom when taking photos or videos, but anything beyond the main view is basically cropping the image, which can make it look less sharp or a bit grainy so it doesn’t really give a clean 8× zoom or higher like phones with a proper telephoto lens. It’s fine for light zooming or bringing a subject a bit closer, but don’t expect high-quality long-range shots.
