For photos and videos, you can buy a microSD card. A 64gb card costs only about $25. Insert one into the phone and you'll almost never have to delete photos and videos. A 128gb card is also less than $70 I believe, and you get a lot more storage. The 32gb version should be plenty for your everyday apps unless you wanna play lots of heavy games.

If you want to change it back to portable storage you have to format the card. I'm taking out the 128 GB U1 and replacing it with a 64 GB U3, integrating it and leaving it alone. When I'm done the phone should be just short of 96 GB if I understand it right. The 64 GB U3 was $25 on Black Friday.

I've had 32 before and you'd be surprised how fast you'll eat it up. There's nothing better than downloading whatever you want and not having to constantly check the file size to see if it's too big.

And i only use about half that even with me stuffing it full of apps and the MLP game. And as far as photos go you can buy a micro SD and use that for extra photo space. That way if the phone craps out you'll still have all your pics.
