I have owned a moto g4 and moto g6 play and used both of them in other countries. All I needed to do was buy a SIM card from a phone company in the country I was in, and put that one in my phone iN place of the US one. I've done it in Mexico, Indonesia, Japan and France. The phone doesn't have 2 SIM slots so you do have to choose which one is active at a time.
