My motorola razr will not start. or charge null

If it will not start, are you pressing/holding the power button long enough? If no charge, is the charging element that's being used defective? I had this issue with another phone once...the cord was no good.

Regarding the charging concern, could you confirm if you are using the original Motorola charger that came with the device?
