“Have a Motorola razor 2023 with 256k less than one year and notice a scratch about an inch long forming where the screen bends for the hinge. Will this get worse and do I have to purchase a new phone? Will it happen on new one? Not dropped nor abused.”

This will get worse. It's unlikely that it's the screen, but instead the (manufacturer replaceable) screen protector. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THE PROTECTOR YOURSELF Sending it in for replacement is ~ $150. I like to do my own service generally having replaced screens on most of the phones that I've owned, but I would personally not attempt this one.
