Mine creaks too when applying pressure to palm area. I first thought it was the battery packaging, but turns out not. A Reddit user found the problem and the solution. After opening the bottom panel, there are 5 tabs (I think) that stick out and suppose to go into the upper case upon closing. Those make the creak sound. Simply use scotch tape to cover them before closing. I did that and no more creak! There are YouTube videos showing teardown and how to upgrade memory and SSD and pasting liquid metal. But all is needed here is removing the 14 or so screws.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.YUP I totally agree... I replaced mine as well and the second one is doing the same thing!!!! I really want to like this laptop! it looks nice and I love the screen but this cracking noise from the housing is really un acceptable from a $2000 laptop :((((((
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've had the same problem!!! Is this a defect or just how the laptop was built?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.YES IT DOES!! I had to return the first unit I purchased because it was unacceptable. I did get another one but it still creaks between the seams, just not as bad as before. Don't know what to do about it but will probably open the thing up and see what I can come up with. Unacceptable for a $2,000 laptop.
