• The external monitor enables the dedicated graphics card to run 100% of the time. If you decide to play with the laptop's included screen, you will be using Optimus mode, which is a hybrid function.

• Yes. While this laptop does not have a MUX switch it still benefits from a small performance boost from connecting to an external monitor. It will be nowhere near +100fps, realistic expectations will be roughly +5-15fps.
