• This is no longer accurate. Firmware can now be updated MSI changed their stance.

• MSI has since changed its mind and does provide occasional firmware updates that you can download via DisplayPort to this monitor, though the program that performs the firmware update can fail on occasion and there is no troubleshooting guidance.
