“When I attempt to plug in any earbuds or headphones to the monitor, it takes a lot of pressure and only some sound comes out but it's very distorted. If I push it a little farther it sounds great but it won't stay like that without applied pressure”

I wouldn’t suggest using a monitor for sound. If you are on pc, use the pcs headphone plug. If you’re on console, use the controller. It goes so on. Monitors (especially gaming) aren’t really meant for outputting sound
