To turn the lighted background on and off, hold the Dragon key and tap the down arrow to decrease the brightness to 0.

Updated answer. Easier way is to press Dragon key + Down Arrow key to turn off and Dragon key + Up Arrow key to turn on

You can turn it off in the MSI center in the Mystic Lights section OR repeatedly press the Dragon key + Insert key until it turns off.
