It's an iPhone. It's magnetic in the back to comply with Apple's "MagSafe" technology, and chargers designed to work with MagSafe phones have a circular ring magnet that the phone attaches to. It's designed to align the phone's charging coil with the charger's coil to assure safe and effective transfer of electricity. Apple has been doing this since iPhone 12, and they're on 17 now, so the last 6 models have had this feature
