Sorry, but the current Essentials Products we have out right now won't be supported by Matter, even with future updates since Matter Bulbs have a different technology and requires a different kind of chip. We do have new and more amazing products that would be able to support Matter! We’re continuing to build Matter into future products, including an upcoming line of smart controls to enable more seamless automation. This will help you make an even smarter home, set for release this 2023.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, my understanding is that Nanoleaf will come out with Matter bulbs separately. If you want matter, you would need to buy new ones. There will not be a firmware update for the Thread bulbs to Matter. I don't mind since the Thread ones will work just fine with my Apple HomeKit and Apple HomePod Mini. I will keep my Thread bulbs.
