Yes, follow the directions and trim only where the scissors are shown.

I apologize for not actually have trimmed my Nanoleaf light strip, but a virtually identical product from Philips Hue I have used on 4 occasions, and they easily are trimmed to length without issue. Quoting the Nanoleaf owner's instructions : https://nanoleaf.me/en-US/products/nanoleaf-essentials/get-started/?products=light-strip cutting is allowed! "Cutting a Lightstrip If you need to cut the Lightstrip to make it shorter to fit your space, connect the male end of your Lightstrip to the Controller before making any adjustments (4.1). Cut your Lightstrip from the other end (female side). Make sure to do so along the indicated cut line to avoid damaging your strip (4.2). NOTE: Once cut, the strip cannot be connected back together, so ensure you’ve measured properly before cutting." This is exactly the same manner that Hue used.
