There is a removable reservoir that the pods get kicked into. You can get free recycling bags when you order from Nespresso and it’s free shipping back to the company.

They get dropped into a container on the side of the machine when you open the lid.

They slide into a separate compartment on the right when you lift the lid to load another pod. Once that compartment is full you just pull up and empty into trash and then push back into place. Very easy, no mess!
