Yes, I have over 5000 sq ft, 3 level home. The router is located on the upper third level floor, one point on the first and second level ; The 1st level floor is 12 ft cement block walls and wifi is great on all three levels.

This depends on what the walls are made of, how many walls there are, and where the access points are placed.

I think a standard drywall/wood studded house would do fine with the three points. I had this for a short time in a 3100 sqft house, and just 2 of the points covered the whole thing pretty easily. 

You may need a 4th point depending on the house layout and wall material.
