Google Nest WiFi requires to be connected to a modem with internet service. If you currently have a modem with working internet service by a service provider, you don't need another modem.

I just upgraded to this one from a Samsung 3-unit freebie I received and the difference is considerable. This extended the home range throughout my two-story house - considerably. Highly recommended.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I kept the Arris Surfboard wireless modem I had purchased years ago which was previously paired with a range expander. When I upgraded the range expander to the Nest mesh system, I just connected it to one of the modem’s ethernet ports and called it a day. I could have turned off the modem’s WiFi but left it on in case I want it dedicated for certain nearby devices.
