This router will easily cover a 2,600 sq. ft. area unless you have significant level interferors in the home.

Generally if there are multiple floors involved you'll want one for each floor. If this is a ranch style home then a single router centrally located may do the trick. Most of the main brand routers are pretty good these days although you may need an extender in addition to the main router to cover your whole home.
