I have shared your frustration, since you posted 2 mos ago, I am assuming you have solved this. However, for the many others reading your question, I will post this answer. I made a telephone call to Netgear support. It took 3 techs before problem resolved. One tech used remote app to access my computer and do all the necessary things to get me up and running. I felt, and still do feel, that this could me made easier. However, Netgear support came through in the end.
