If you have FIOS you have a faster connection at least in theory due to being fiber. Problem is that providers throttle down the connection individually or by multiplexing it with a group of customers in a neighborhood. In this instance a connection speed can drop 80% due to being shared. Ask if your on a local node that has the FIOS shared with a group of other customers . Ask what the speed is supposed to be and search the internet for sites that test your connection , pick test servers on the test site in different parts of the US not local to your state . see what the speed of your connection is versus the provider you pay says it is supposed to be. Straight out ask them if they throttle their connection .
