I just installed this NETGEAR AC1200 WiFi adapter on my Windows 8.1 desktop computer. I have NOT upgraded to Windows 10. It works GREAT. No problems with install. During installation, it did "update" the firmware/software, but obviously the "update" can tell if your machine is Windows 8.1 or 10 and updates itself accordingly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it does. I have it on a Win 8.1 na d windows 10 pc.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will work with Win 8.1, it does not come with a Win 10 driver...HOWEVER, Netgear posted a Windows 10 driver, and it works just fine for me on my Windows 10 laptop. I do not know if you will see any issues while upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, but I don't think it would be much of a problem to re-install the new driver if necessary.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you're updating to Win 10 from Win 8 use a wired connection to do it as MS in their wisdom uses the wireless SSID to name the network port on the PC and cause's issues and I had to hack it out of the registry to get things back to working together. But the adapter works fine with Win 10.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.it worked for me
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.First, once you have the update to Windows 10, you no longer have Windows 8.1. As for your question, the wireless adapter is not compatible with Windows 10. I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, and I had to do a system restore after EVERY restart or shut down after installing the driver for the wireless adapter. The only way to avoid the system restore was to not install the driver, which meant not using the wireless adapter.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. So I suppose I don't know what you mean by the Win10 update, but I do have it working with 8.1. I'm pretty sure I downloaded the latest firmware when I bought it a couple weeks ago.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Do not use the vendors drivers. If you installed them you will have to remove them. Win10 can use its own drives to get it to work
