I am not sure how your security camera is configured but it if has a USB port, this would likely work. I am using this netgear device to connect my PC to our 5Ghz wireless router in our equipment room. I am getting great performance and I can look at my VIVINT home security cameras easily. The security cameras are linked wirelessly to the router provided by VIVINT and then to the secure internet connection. Not sure if that helps or now.
