“Will this connect to my wireless AC 5ghz bandwidth connection? I have a new router (nighthawk ac 1900) that offers a 2.4 and 5 ghz. My current wifi card does not connect or pickup the 5ghx band so it is going to waste.”

Yes, this connects to 5GHz as well. It worked for me . Both 2.4 and 5.0 GHz it connects. I was able to get around 800Mbps speed . which is awesome.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This antenna will work for 5 gHz wifi. That is the reason I got it for myself. My laptop internal adapter does not work for the 5 g this antenna solved that issue.

That said unless your existing adapter isn't an AC one in most cases you won't notice any real difference between the 2.4 and 5ghz channels. I have both on my home network sometimes the 2.4 actually gives me a stronger faster connection than the 5. If you existing single channel adapter is n or slower then by all means give this one a try.
