During setup you need the device in the same room as the router. Once setup is complete you want to deploy it somewhere between the router and where you want a stronger signal. Netgear has a neat Analytics app to help you figure where to put the extender. Check their website for more info on how to do this. Netgear.com.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.In my case, putting the AC750 midway between the router and the desired signal boost location worked best. I tried a few different placements of the AC750 and doing a signal strength test at each before finding the best spot.
