“Would this work if the router/modem is in the garage? the internet is hooked in the garage and up stairs has only 3 signals even down stairs living room has 3 to 4 signals and I was wondering, would this work with Motorola - SURFboard eXtreme DOCSIS 3.0 Wireless-N Cable Modem and Gigabit Router? I have comcast as the isp.”

It should work with any wireless router. It just has to be setup near enough to the router to receive an acceptable signal, then it amplifies it and rebroadcasts a stronger signal which extends the range.

If the rooms are close by each other but on different floors, you should still be ok. If they are far apart, you may need to choose a favorite. The dual antennas are adjustable, so you may be able to find a happy medium.

Please try again later.I have a similar setup, yes it will work with your Motorola modem, you do not need the gigabit router as the Nighthawk has wired (gigabit) and wireless connections. If you have issues with coverage I would also suggest the Netgear AC7500 range extender.
