“I use a ubiquity access point 500 feet away, it works fine, but it broadcasts at 5Ghz. My wireless printer will not recognize anything but a 2Ghz. Can this extender be used to receive in 5GHz but broadcast in 2GHz ? Can't change ubiquity settings.”

This router can broadcast both 2.4g and 5g, and it will pick up your 5g router. You could also use a network cable for devices that don't have wifi.

Yes the signal can be set at several different broadcast specs.

I am not 100% sure, but I think you could still have it broadcast a 2.5 signal after it receives the 5 ghz signal.

No. is not possible. there is no conversion in the frequency band. but it generates both 2.4G and 5G and you can use the 2.4G channel.
