This WiFi extender seems to be compatible with any modem/router. It simply picks up the signal from your router and rebroadcasts it from wherever you have positioned it. My home is large and made of brick. Signals were not reaching to the outer rooms. Even with the use of this extender. I used another product by Netgear, "Netgear powerline adapter 2000 Mps" to reach the furthest of my rooms. It routes the signal through the electrical wiring and then you can plug the receiver/s into it at any other electrical outlet. It has 2 Ethernet LAN output sockets. I used this to make a wired connection to a smart TV. If you plug in a second router you will then have a second, stronger, WiFi signal with a different name at the other end of your reception area.
