Yes if you have a wifi signal in the room you want to put it in.

I would download an app like WiFi analyzer and see if you get a bar or two. If you do I would say yes it does. If not it wont.

Wireless signals are affected by distance and also by walls, ceilings, pipes etc. Concrete walls, in particular, can reduce the signal strength significantly. The thicker the walls, the more the reduction.
