Yes you can extend recording time beyond the 10 second default. I changed to 20 seconds which seems to work well. When watching live you can record or take a picture by pressing the appropriate button. By default it does not record but uses the picture as the last viewed picture on your camera reference screen.

There is also a pretty considerable delay (30 seconds or so) when watching live and it would often fail to work when I tried.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You have the option to set it from 6 seconds, all the way up to 2 minutes if it detects motion. If you are viewing live, you can press the record button in the app or if you're on the website, and it will record for however long you have the video pulled up. You get limited free space, so it's not going to record for too long of a period.
