• It works with an ssl or ipsec vpn connection. However, if you are connecting to an old school, lower security PPTP vpn, then you have to install the patch on Netgears website to allow that type of vpn connection.

• I do not no the answer to that question I know this worked much better than the Aris AC Modem router But I think BestBuy GeeK Squad should know.
