“Once I have installed the unit, do I need to connect to another wifi with _EXT or do I continue connecting to the regular wifi? I have everything set up and the extender is connected to the router. Any help is appreciated... confused with what I read.”

Once installed, you select, then connect to your network. We were connected to a smart tv for display. From that point on, your devices will simply see ( and recognize ) your network signal coming from the mesh extender. I. e. Phones, I-pads, tablets etc.
