You could but you would have to have to call your cable company and register two MAC addresses with them. From your question, I'm guessing that you want to extend the signal within your home. If that's the case, I would purchase a wi-fi extender. It will save you time and money without having to set up a 2nd modem. If you'd like to use this modem as your main modem, run your wireless router with and retire your old modem this is a great modem.
