howdy i know your pain i was stuck with they for years and to that i will say no it wont make the speed better just get a normal wifi router dont go top of the line because you wont get the benefits with Hughes. now some tips that might help with your situation look for wisp internet providers in your area they usually dont advertise as much as they should but if you do have any in your area your internet connection will be way way better good luck
