Ohhhh ok lol, No that was just the Complete Description of the EXTENDER as Best Buy had it listed LOL……I just wanted to know if it would work with my AX11000 as just a WiFi Extender! Sorry for the Confusion!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I misunderstood your question. I thought you were asking specifically if it supported being a mesh network node, which it does not. It DOES have an AP mode, where it just acts as a regular wifi access point without running the routing services. This can of course be used in conjunction with an existing mesh network and nothing prevents you from mixing and matching operation modes in this way.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the previous Answer “NO” is completely incorrect! I copied and pasted this from NETGEARS WEBSITE! Beware of some of these answers to your questions folks…..they are not always right! I ALMOST bought a new extender from his “NO’ answer until I checked with Netgear, ( which I should’ve done in the first place, I don’t know what I was thinking lol) Pasted from NETGEARS site: A Tri-band router is not needed to use a Nighthawk Tri-Band WiFi Extender. It is a universal extender and will work with any router. It is not limited to only NETGEAR routers and is compatible with ISP gateways as well other routers on the market. If you have a Tri-band router, it is recommended that you dedicate the second 5GHz band as the dedicated WiFi link between the router and the extender for best performance. This will ensure the wireless clients do not interfere with the dedicated WiFi connection. A Nighthawk Tri-Band WiFi Extender is also a great solution for your dual-band router or your ISP provided gateway. You will get the benefit of FastLane3 technology by having the dedicated WiFi link from the extender while continuing to use the 5GHz band of the router for connecting wireless devices. And THERE ya go!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You say no, it’s not compatible, but all the research I’ve done since I read your reply says it is! So I dunno man…….we’ll just have to wait and see! I see no reason why it wouldn’t….I’m only running a 2.4 and 5ghz WiFi…Geek Squad said it will definitely work! So you may want to check your sources!
