• Yes, this is a modem only. A Wi-Fi router needs to be attached for it for you to use Wi-Fi. It works great. We had problems with the one from ComCast kept dropping this one has had no issues

• Yes. There are other devices that are combined modem/router, but this is only a modem and will not service multiple devices. You could plug one computer into this modem with a cord, but no wi-fi and no other devices.

• If you want to use wireless, yes. This is not a modem router combo. You can connect one wired computer to this modem and connect to the internet, but if you have more wireless devices you'll need a router as well.
