Im no expert but i had a similar issue at my house but through comcast. I was advised to shut the wireless function off if the modem and to run it exclusively through a router. I did this with the tri-band router and all the troubles have disappeared.hope this helps but i would check with your provider on their capabilities.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you'll get a stronger signal and have three separate channels to link your devices too.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Will say this my router was old and I needed a new one. I bought this and before mine was 11 Mbps and my Isp supplies 50Mbps in my area. When I got this Router mine went up to a great increase to 47 Mbps. I would say for sure it would be the combo modem/Router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Don't know about your particular situation; however, I purchased a combination router and modem from CenturyLink a long time ago and it was absolutely of no use to me. Had to go through a long drawn out process to get my standard modem back from them....then connected their standard modem to our Netgear router and that has worked out best for our situation. Just upgraded to the Nighthawk router and it's primo. Back in the day, the CenturyLink modem/router combination would only accommodate I believe "G" connections. This may have changed by now. Currently we have CenturyLink's standard modem connected to the Netgear Nighthawk router and it's working like a charm! We do also have a booster downstairs, not sure if that plays into our good connections or not.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same issue with my previous router, and now I have full high speed/bandwidth access throughout my property.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You total speed is dictated by several factors: Speed of your connection to CL, Speed of the Modem / router that CL is providing, Speed of your router / networking equipment, including your wifi (if connecting via wifi). The standard starting speed of broadband from CL is 1.5, so possibly that's what your plan provides. If that is the case changing other aspects of your infrastructure (installing this device for example) will do nothing to improve that. On the other hand if you are getting more than 1.5 at the provider's (cl's) equipment then the issue is with your equipment. In that case this device may increase your speed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I also have a modem/router from CL but I have 25 mbps bonded internet. I purchased this router because my wi-fi signal kept getting dropped. So, it should help your internet situation.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Probably not depending which part of the network has the problem. If the incoming cable or the router is bad then it won't help. If the WiFi is bad then it will help. I would recommend you return CL modem and get a replacement.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would direct connect your laptop to the CL modem with a network cable and run a speedtest.net test and see what your speed to the modem is. If still low (really under your plan speed) it could be the CL line or modem. If that checks out OK then yes this router has one of the better ranges I've come across, and should hope.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am not sure about Century Link but my internet provider informed me that a standard, uninterrupted video streaming download, is around 3-4 mbps. I have a 25 mbps speed at my home and can easily run my wife and daughter on two separate Netflicks shows, my son on a PC online video game and my 2nd son on the PS4 playing online. This router can handle all of this easily. We are only around 30 feet away at the furthest point and our devices connect without interruption. In fact, I can go online and play also, without any issue. I think that this router can handle it but you need faster internet speed from your service provider to have un-interrupted service. Hope this helps.
