“Is this the same as a booster and if not can you explain what a booster will do for me. I have a new smart TV and get my wifi from my daughters house next to me but I can't get Netflicks and my TV is slowing their WIFI. I need answers please!”

This booster will help. Yet the problem depends on the internet speed you are using. If too slow and too many using at the same time, your Netflix will be sketchy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is a modem. Use this if you have coax cable coming to your home from the supplier. To increase wifi range you need an extender (see attached picture of one brand). This connects to existing wifi and is located away from the existing wifi but still in its range. The extender then amplifies the wifi for further range. Works like a repeater in other applications. Your devices that are located farther away from your base router/wifi then connect to the extender wifi which will usually have the same wifi name with -ext added at the end.
