yes, you have to purchase the base tower and one satellite. This 'Add On" is for those that need higher coverage for their home or property.

No , add on means you can add to your existing satellites you have because Orbi now has where I originally bought the router and 3 extra in my package now I bought one more which was and add on works great . Just read and follow your system and it will tell you Which one is your add on , you can also add more if needed. You have different options.
