The Orbi device will not provide internet - it will only broadcast your internet providers signal via Wi-Fi to your home. Most ISP's now provide (usually with a rental fee) a Wi-Fi Modem/router so if you sign up with another provider, the new modem may provide a strong enough signal so that you don't need Orbi. If however, you have a fairly large home (2000 sq ft) - or if you cannot place the new modem in a central location in your home, then you may want to consider purchasing Orbi (or some other Wi-Fi router) that can provide greater coverage.
