Q: QuestionI have a netgear AC 1750 router do I disconnect it if I purchase the netgear orbi mesh WiFi? I also have a netgear WiFi range extender that I use.

• A:Answer Yes this unit will replace that and is light years ahead of it. The annoyance of range extenders is you must login to the new network they create. This system uses one network ID does that behind switching he scenes and auto switches you between the tri-band network. Its the best experience for the money in my opinion.

Q: QuestionMy family has already purchased this product and it is working very well, but we still want to extend some of the signal is it possible to buy a stand-alone satellite as this combo only has one, without having to return this one and buy one that has 2.

Q: QuestionI recently purchased a netgear wifi router and had to connect it to my FiOS modem. I want to use my WiFi router and return the FiOS modem. Can I use my WiFi router as the main router and connect the orbi mesh system to it?

• A:Answer You need a modem to communicate with the service provider. If your WiFI router is both a modem and WiFi router you may use it. Otherwise you would keep the modem you have.

• A:Answer Yes that is correct but you need to activate the orbi router first then plug in the satellite next to the router as in the same room to sync it up. I got rid of all my spectrum equipment and now my internet never drops! I bought the combo WiFi/router.

• A:Answer I get my internet via a fiber optic connection from SCTC. No modem is required; my current router (Netgear's 6220) works fine with the internet cable plugged directly into that router. However, the Orbi mesh router isn't able to complete the install without a modem. It acts like it does, but keeps going back to the "plug internet cable into the modem and reboot". I've told them several times, I don't HAVE a modem, I don't NEED a modem with fiber connection. I'm still waiting for Netgear Support to get back to me, but I suspect I'll be returning this item to Best Buy. Pity, I think it's a good product, if Netgear would only fix the problem.

• A:Answer I had A similar issue where I was only getting Internet from one port coming from the modem so I had to get a splitter from the modem port out that provide Internet to be able to get Internet to the Wi-Fi router and other devices via wired connection Hope this helps
