I have internet through Century Link, it is lousy in my home. Do I need them to fix their problem before going with something like this or will this help me? null

It's better to get your own DSL modem and then attach a router.. I wouldn't buy this one, see my review.
If you try to attach a router to a setup that's modem and router it will cause issues unless you know how to disable the WiFi on the modem/router, you might still have issues.

If your speed is slow coming into your house, this will not help. Get cable!

Yes. I upgraded my speed, thru my cable company. I will only be as fast as what is coming into your house. It will fix any dead spots.

Comcast/xfinity has much better internet service
The modem/routers provided by these providers are not the best quality. Since buying Orbi there have been no issues with streaming
